Be a part of the mystery!!THE STORYIn the port town of San Pedro, California, pioneer and philanthropist Rudecinda Sepulveda Dodson (1858-1930) contributed to the development and character of the town. She funded civic, cultural, and religious buildings from the Women’s Club, the town catholic school, a theatre, a fire station, and the Elk’s Club to name a few. She lived a life of classy dinner parties and three-month cruises and stays in Hawaii.Rudecinda also amassed a lot of gold, diamonds, and fine jewelry over the years from gifts, tokens of appreciation, and shopping over the decades that she had two large jewelry chests built to keep them: one filled with her gold and one filled with her diamonds & fine jewelry. When Rudecinda died in 1930, it was naturally believed her daughter inherited the two chests, but after her daughter passed away in 1969, it was discovered Rudecinda’s two large chests were nowhere to be found. In the 1970s, rumors and San Pedro folklore led some San Pedrans to believe that she hid her chests leaving clues to their whereabouts. In the late 1980s, the discovery of the gold chest solidified the rumors to be true. This book follows and takes account of the various stories, history, interview compilations, clues, theories, and rumors collected over the past few decades of the mystery that shrouds Rudecinda, how her gold chest was discovered, and what happened to the remaining chest. Was it discovered? Is it still hidden somewhere in San Pedro? What clues are out there? Read more
